New investment in Ex Nunc Intelligence
We are very pleased to announce the next investment of the Spicehaus Swiss Venture Fund II today. The Fund has already built a portfolio of six technology companies
- Ex-Nunc Intelligence SA is a legal technology startup developing Silex, an AI-powered automation platform for legal professionals that focuses on delivering highly accurate legal research. The Company targets lawyers and small to medium law firms, offering subscription-based tiers that streamline repetitive legal tasks and enhance precision while addressing common issues such as hallucinations and data privacy in AI legal tools.
- What truly sets Silex apart for existing users is its blend of accuracy, transparency, and privacy. Unlike generic legal AI tools such as ChatGPT, Silex’s answers are methodical and always come with clear references; it does not “hallucinate” or fabricate content, a critical feature for rigorous legal work. The output from the legal research is structured as if a real lawyer had done it.
- Looking ahead, Ex Nunc plans to expand Silex’s capabilities beyond legal search. The next major milestone is introducing advanced document drafting powered by AI – eventually allowing law firms to not only research but also draft contracts and legal pleadings within the same trusted platform, using both public legal data and their own private knowledge base.
- The founding team combines deep expertise in law, tax, and AI engineering:
- Kyriaki Bongard (CEO): Licensed attorney, expert in finance, law, and tax, with experience at Bonnard Lawson International Law Firm and KPMG.
- Thomas Sèze (CTO): AI architect and software engineer, previously at CHANEL, Hermès, and EZYfinance, with technical leadership in AI and data science.
- The platform Silex is currently used by several hundred law firms, notary offices, and corporate legal departments, underscoring strong demand and market validation. The international expansion aims at countries such as Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Austria, chosen for their common Civil Law tradition and integrated multilingual support.
- The Spicehaus Swiss Venture Fund II led the funding round of USD 2.15m. The round was completed by Swiss VC Investor Bloomhaus and business angels.
